Celebrity chef and author Tony Singh has produced the menus at Tasty in Alea Casino on Springfield Quay. Much like the larger than life chef, it is a fun, spectacular restaurant with amazing views of the Clyde and the Glasgow skyline. The emphasis here is on having a good time, whether in the vibrant, colourful restaurant or in the wider casino complex where a packed entertainment schedule keeps things lively.
Scottish ingredients, global flavours
Tony has long championed Scottish ingredients and this passion shines through in dishes like the Loch Etive smoked salmon and prawn parcels; the Cullen skink gnocchi made with smoked haddock fillet and the rack of Borders lamb.
The chef also like to mix and match culinary traditions in dishes like the haggis pakora or the goat’s cheese ravioli with smoked paprika and a shallot sauce.
Other dishes are more classic. Think along the lines of slow-braised feather blade of steak in a Chianti sauce or the rare breed pork steak accompanied by pork belly, a black pudding bon bon, cider gravy and a leek mash.
A grill section offers steaks sourced from Shaw’s Fine Meats in Lauder. They are aged for a minimum of 35 days, cooked to your liking and served with hand-cut chips, a grilled mushroom, a grilled tomato, and Béarnaise sauce.
