The food and atmosphere get top marks from me and my friends BUT we were treated most unfairly.
I booked the 18:30 slot on the 5pm website. When we arrived at Ollies we perused the menu and ordered drinks. Two friends arrived slightly later and once we all had drinks the waitress came to take our order, we asked for 2 more minutes. Then we started to order and my friend who is allergic to butter asked to have a dish changed, waitress checked with kitchen and chef had said no problem. So far so good.
Then we all put in our order and off the waitress went. Then the duty manager appeared and says it was too late for our order and we couldn't have the 5pm deal. Huge difference in prices between 5pm deal and regular menu so we were shocked. She said it was too late, it was now (after the various to and fro) nearly 7pm. Why didn't she or the waitress tell us there was a cut off point for ordering? Neither of them had any clarity on what exactly the cut off time for ordering is if you have a 6:30pm booking. If the waitress had said 'you need to order by X time' we would have.
The duty manager was rude, unapologetic and made no concession. We paid full price for our meals which were delicious but the spark had gone out of the evening because of the way we were treated.
