My partner and I went for the pre-theatre menu which was advertised as "£11 per person instead of £24.45 for 2 courses (starter and main course)". So far so good.
Except that the minestrone was more of a potato soup with a few veg in it, the Beef al Chianti described as "Braised topside of Aberdeen Angus" was thin slices of roast beef instead. My salmon, described as "Grilled fillet of Scottish Salmon
served with a sauce made with king prawns, steamed broccoli, tomatoes, cream, basil & prawns", was steamed (which is not a problem) but had no hint of prawns in it. If they were in the sauce, they must have been truly liquidised!
All this sounds bad but it wasn't. The food WAS NICE, just a little salty for my taste buds and wouldn't have paid more for it. Good value meal but very expensive glass of wine. The service was good, fast and efficient.
