This is my second visit & fab food & service once again. What a great deal from the little gem in the Southside of Glasgow. £13 for two courses or £16 for 3 plus a 125ml of wine. What you don't know is that you always get an amuse bouche & homemade bread & oil/vinegar as well thrown in free even when on a deal. I had broccoli & cream cheese crème caramel to start. I just had to try something so unusual & it was lovely. Soft warm mouse texture with bitter burnt sugar top which offset the earthiness of the broccoli & creaminess of the cheese. My hubbie had Cock-a-leekie terrine. Chicken & crunchy veg wrapped in leeks. Again lovely although my husband felt it needed a little more seasoning. I followed my starter with braised Ox cheeks with green veg & not liking the mustard mash I chose chips instead. No fuss at changing. I can take or leave chips thought I prefer them to mash but not these chips. Lovely homemade chips crispy on the outside & fluffy in the middle. Fabulous & the green veg made up of mange tout, broccoli shoots & courgettes was lovely with a bite still to them. Hubbie had Coley in breadcrumbs with chips, mushy peas [traditional peas] & prawn butter & reported back it was delicious. We didn't have sweets or coffee. The wine with the deal was of good quality. I was offered help as arrived with crutches & shown to a suitable seat allowing me to rest my leg. Nothing was a problem at all & the waitress was very friendly & attentive. WE didn't feel rushed. Can't wait to go back.
