Four of us meet for a meal once a month and I got a 5pm deal for Cricklewood. We have been before and always enjoyed it. The new manager was charming, cheeky and slightly flirty - never a bad thing for us. To start, 3 of us had mozzarella sticks in a rosemary and chilli crumble and I had pan fried mushrooms in a white wine, cream and chive sauce on ciabatta. They were more than happy with their choice and the mushrooms were very good.
For the main course 2 of us had warm black pudding and bacon salad, 1 had a hamburger and 1 had cajun marinated chicken breast. The hamburger and chicken was served with chips in a metal basket (I love these, no idea why). My friend who had the hamburger said "it was the best she had ever had" and that is saying something! The salad was different but absolutely lovely. The cajun chicken was slightly black round the edges but cooked well and it disappeared no problem. Only slight disappointment was that the vegetarian fish and chips were not available which we had wanted to try.
Didn't manage dessert so we finished with a coffee and piece of shortbread. As I said, I got a deal but it would have been worth every penny of the menu price. We will return.
