The staff were keen for us to have afternoon tea rather than lunch which I had booked and I had to show my booking confirmation to convince them I had booked lunch. Service was great but the menu was quite different from the example published on the web site. The main course choices were steak pie, fish and chips, chicken curry and burgers. Rather unimaginative for a venue that describes itself as something different. The cabaret, we were told, started at 1pm and consisted of two brothers who were 'great singers'. They never appeared and no explanation was given. This was a birthday lunch for one of my friends but turned out to be rather a disappointment.
