I booked the Afternoon Tea after hearing how great Wild Cabaret was. When we arrived no-one was on hand to meet us there was a table waiting in front who had not been greeted yet either. When the waitress arrived she ignored the queue and went into the back re-appearing 5 minutes later by now more people had arrived. She took the first groups asked them to sit took our name and disappeared again. She came back saying she didn't have a booking for us and asked for a confirmation code which I duly gave. Again without explanation she left and when she returned informed me the code was incorrect, I gave it to her again and showed her the email.
She asked if I booked in group-on at least now we are getting somewhere I told her we had booked on 5pm this was a booking code she asked to see the email when I showed it to her she kept asking for a different code when I explained I didn't have any other code and if it was too much hassle to sit us in the empty lounge we would leave. She then got a manager who explained she couldn't redeem the code! I was by now exasperated I explained again it wasn't to be redeemed it was a booking code and I gave her my name, she still could not find the booking, then the penny dropped for her, she asked if we had pre-paid again I said no and she finally understood.
I could hear an identical conversation going on behind me, they clearly have issues with the basics. Finally we were seated.
Our food came timely and with a glass of fizz each, however we also ordered a pot of tea, it never came. The atmosphere was terrible the lounge so empty and light and the musicians playing stopped and started they seemed more likely to be having a private practice rather than a paid show. We ordered a round of drinks after food, the same round from 2 different members of staff eventually I had to get up and order from the bar myself it still took another 20 minutes to arrive all together terrible service, poorly managed and the atmosphere heightened the terrible experience.
