After several fantastic Afternoon Tea experiences elsewhere I was excited to try the Corinthian Club's deal. I visited the Corinthian twice in one weekend with separate parties- firstly as a 5 on Sat the 7th March and secondly as a 2 on Sunday the 8th March. Saturday's service was lacklustre and a bit erratic with a member of my party having to ask for our drinks order to be taken- two of our five guests were veggie- able to eat fish, cheese and houmous- sadly we were served up sandwiches with coleslaw and lettuce- not your usual combination. Previously in other establishments we've had mozzarella and pesto, houmous and cherry tomatoes or cheese and cucumber- all perfectly acceptable alternatives. On the Sunday when attending as a party of two I specifically (having had enough of coleslaw sandwiches) requested tuna sandwiches which was obliged- my friend asked for gluten free to which she was asked 'is this just a preference or are you actually allergic?' - INCREDIBLE customer service. We were told we had a limited time on the table which is understandable given its a weekend but had to again ask for tea (quite an important part of afternoon tea) and actually go to the bar to get milk as our waitress 'forgot' to supply us with some even upon request. Shocking.
