Friendly Italian restaurant in Merchant City
A family-run Italian restaurant on John Street, Piazza Italia is part of the Italian Centre in the Merchant City. As well as a mezzanine level and ground floor dining room, Piazza Italia has a popular pavement dining area which comes into its own during the warmer months.

Wide ranging, authentic Italian menu
The menus at Piazza Italia are packed with choice. From breaded mushrooms with a garlic mayo dip to bruschetta, chicken liver pâté and seafood bisque, the selection of starters is extensive. As well as many pizza, pasta and risotto options, there are authentic meat and fish dishes.
Popular choices include the veal Milanese; fillet steak with a Diana sauce and the fish stew – fresh seafood and shellfish in white wine, tomato, garlic and mixed herbs.
Close to George Square
Part of the Italian Centre on John Street, Piazza Italia is in Glasgow’s Merchant City. A five minute walk to George Square, the restaurant is handy for Queen Street railway station and the underground system.
There are ample pay car parks in the area and taxis are easy to find in the Merchant City. The Tron Theatre, Gallery of Modern Art and Merchant City concert halls are all within easy walking distance of Piazza Italia.
