    Birthday dinner

Booked Pancho Villas for my partner's 50th Birthday meal as it is one of our favourite restaurants and as there were 13 of us attending we made use of the offer of 2 courses for £10.99. The restaurant did not let us down and the staff were excellent as usual and the food was delicious. They even took the time to bring over a desert with a candle and sing happy birthday to my partner which was appreciated and gave the table a round of tequila shots which added to our night. Our entire party loved the evening and we stayed on after the meal to have more drinks.

Friendly Mexican in Merchant City

Located on Bell Street in Glasgow’s vibrant Merchant City, Pancho Villa’s is a well established Mexican restaurant. Decked out in bright colours and hung with pictures of old Mexican scenes, it is as suitable for a quiet meal for two as it is for a celebratory dinner with friends. The Margaritas – made with freshly squeezed Mexican limes – come highly recommended.

Fresh, authentic Mexican

Locally sourced ingredients such as Borders beef are carefully combined with authentic Mexican ingredients at Pancho Villa’s. The kitchen uses twelve different kinds of chilli in their dishes and that pains-taking approach pays off with bright and vivid flavours.

Many of the dishes are served as street food portions – perfect for sharing and trying several different dishes. Naturally, there are burritos, tacos, enchiladas and fajitas, all available with fillings which range from marinated pork to crab meat and peppers in a cream cheese and chipotle sauce. Pancho Villa’s is also very vegetarian friendly and offers gluten-free versions of most dishes.

Merchant City attractions and transport

Pancho Villa’s is on Bell Street in the Merchant City. There is limited on-street parking and pay parking on Ingram Street and Albion Street. The nearest train station is on High Street. Queen Street train and subway connections are a ten minute walk. Pancho Villa’s is convenient for the Old Fruitmarket, Tron Theatre and Barrowland.
