    Good value tapas

Enjoyed our visit to this restaurant. The choice of tapas was very good and catered for everyone's taste. There was plenty to eat but my only complaint was there was too much onion with the grilled goat's cheese. it was mainly onions , perhaps a few different roasted veg would have been better. The wine with the tapas was lovely and smooth. The service was excellent as was the 2 lovely waitress who were excellent. I will be back!

    GREAT FOOD, GREAT VALUE

My wife and I visited Mercado, not for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our deal gave us 5 tapas and a bottle of wine which was great value for money. The service was excellent as well. Will certainly be back

Authentic Spanish tapas restaurant in Glasgow’s Merchant City

Mercado is Spanish for market, an appropriate name for this inviting and stylish tapas bar located in the old Merchants’ Market in the midst of all the Merchant City action. With its glass roof and cobbled terrace, it’s an atmospheric vantage point for people-spotting while you enjoy authentic Spanish cuisine. It’s a lively option for light lunches or romantic date nights, and also offers lunch and pre-theatre set menus. Saturday night is salsa night at Mercado, with live performances.

Viva Espana with paella, tapas and Sangria

Mercado offers the real taste of Spain in menus that emulate tapas bar favourites from the Iberian peninsular. Popular main dishes include a variety of paellas, marinated pork skewers with a spicy mojo picon sauce, and chicken and chorizo salad. Tapas selections offer familiar items from your Costa holidays such as albondigas de ternera meatballs and gambas al pil pil, prawns with garlic, chilli and coriander. Seafood and fish are freshly sourced locally.

Sangria, cava and imported beers such as Estrella, Alhambra and Mahou ensure that the Spanish influence extends to the drinks menu.
