First time dining at this restaurant, so booked for the pre-theatre menu via 5pm. Had such a fantastic meal that I will definitely be going back. The restaurant décor is lovely Victorian theme dark with velvet curtains and candles which I loved. The staff were very friendly and attentive and we did not have to wait any length of time between courses. I had the chicken liver pate to start which was delicious and my partner had the bruschetta which comes with black pudding pieces mixed in with the tomatoes as a Scottish twist and he loved it. For our mains, we both had the breast of chicken which comes with mashed potato, vegetables and a haggis fritter with a peppercorn sauce. We both agreed this was an utterly delicious and mouthwatering dish. We originally planned to have just the two courses which is great value at £12.95 per person however on hearing the description of the dessert of the day which was a chocolate and toffee cream pie dish I was sold and thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall great experience and will be back again soon.
