Sometimes restaurants reflect the character of their neighbourhood, and sometimes they manage to define that character all by themselves.
Gandolfo Fish has managed to reflect the character of the Merchant City, through effortless style and first class seafood.
On this visit, I enjoyed the Thai style Orkney Mussels followed by Monkfish tail with Langoustines on a bed of curried lentils. On the other side of the table, smoked Mackerel Pate was being followed by the same main.
It is impossible to fault either starter and the main course which came from the evening's "Specials" and was accompanied by a bottle of the Spanish White recommended by the restaurant.
