If you are stuck for ideas on where to go with friends for good food and a catch up, Esca never fails. The 5pm menu is excellent value for money and the food while not 5 star standards, is certainly plentiful and tasty. The mussels as a starter is a very good size portion and 5 out of 5 of us dining together cleared our plates. A tip for the chicken and broccoli risotto - more florets, less stalk please! Friendly staff with just the right amount of time in between courses to let you know that the food is cooked fresh. Esca has a relaxed and cosy atmosphere making it an easy choice.
