I had been to Esca before and was looking forward to going back - so I had booked it for my 30th Birthday.
Some of my party had to cancel due to family illness, when I tried to explain this to the waitress, she walked off when I was still talking and snapped up the cutlery and glasses set for them. RUDE.
We then waited 40 minutes and I had to ask if someone could take our order.
The starter was fine, really tasty - I love the stuffed mushroom starter, and the stuffed chillies were also amazing. The main meal however was not. Again, the service was severely lacking when this was served to us.
On receiving my risotto - I knew to look at it that it was going back. It was as dry as saw dust. I sent it back, and received a new dish fairly quickly but wasn't given any new cutlery - and as the waitress was never to be seen I just had to take a fork from the table behind.
We also had to ask to get more drinks - twice.
Although there were a few tables with other folk, it wasn't particular busy for the number of staff they had on- so I can't even see that being an excuse.
Really very disappointing.
