Decided to try the pre-theater menu as I have not been here before, and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
The restaurant had a good atmosphere, the place was busy, and staff were attentive and pleasant.
For starters, I had the mussels in tomato and chili broth (starter for the day), which were cooked well, however could have been spicier. My partner had the carrot and ginger soup which was an interesting and pleasant alternative to the usual.
We both had the Tender pork loin with cumberland sausage, bubbles and squeak. Whilst we both thoroughly enjoyed this, the poached egg and baked bean puree which came with this meal made it seem more like a big breakfast. I wasn't complaining, but I can't imagine this being everyone's cup of tea so to speak.
Good sized portions too both of us were stuffed and could not fit dessert, however I would recommend their coffee and tablet. A nice finish to the meal, and looking forward to going back.
