Having visited Boteco before and being very impressed, after Friday nights disaster, will not be visiting again. I booked via 5pm for 3 people @ 6pm on the 18th March, we arrived to a not too busy restaurant. Having identified ourselves to the waitress on duty, she took us to our table. Alarm bells started to ring when they put us at a table that had been set for 6. After waiting 10 minutes, a different waitress came over to the table to take our drinks order; 3 watermelon martinis. Another 10 minutes later, the same waitress came over, with no drinks, and asked us, in broken English, where the other 3 members of our party were. Having explained that there was only 3 of us booked in, she walked away and spoke to a colleague. A further 10 minutes later, she appeared again, asking what our party name was and if we had booked a deal through Living Social – NO, we again stated that we had booked through 5pm.co.uk and would it be possible to get some drinks over to our table. By this time, it was now 6.30, with no drinks or food order been taking. The same waitress then returned again to our table, still with no drinks and asked me to write down our party name on a piece of paper! After doing this and again asking for our drinks and food order to be taken, she walked away, returning with drinks and ‘apologised’ for the confusion. I use the word apologise loosely, as this was a half hearted attempt at pacifying us, as we were getting more and more annoyed.
After finally ordering food and getting our drinks, our party was impressed with the food. But we had a bad taste in our mouth after the original service. There had clearly been a mix up with the bookings at their end, and had they asked us to move tables, we would have been happy to do this, instead we were left sitting at a table for 6 with not drinks, for 30mins. We found the waitress in question extremely rude and unhelpful, and due to this, will not be returning.
