Arta Reviews

  • Beautiful surroundings, not the best food (Rating 3.2/5)
Arta is undoubtably a gorgeous place but with classical music in one ear in the restaurant and salsa playing in the other it was like being at a carnival with conflicting sounds jarring at your senses. We mentioned this and it was dealt with. Service was good but sound system in the night club area was very ,very bad. Still a fun evening

This was my first visit to Arta and I was blown away. The interior is absolutely gorgeous, it was completely unexpected from the wee door at the front I fell in love with it instantly. The service was very attentive, the food was well portioned and delicious and excellent value. There was a dance class on downstairs during the meal (maybe always on a Thursday night?) but I think it added to the experience.

  • Disappointed (Rating 1.8/5)
Visited yesterday for the first time to celebrate mothers day - poor service from beginning to end! We had to approach the bar staff to ask if we could be seated, we waited 25 minutes before having to ask if we could order / have some drinks. We then had to chase up our drinks order as it didn't arrive after 20 minutes. We waited over 1/2 an hour between our starter & main course. We then had to ask for the bill - we wanted to pay by card & no staff member approached us to take the payment. We had to then approach the staff AGAIN after another 1/2 an hour & ask to make the payment - we could easily have left without paying! We were also wrongly charged £8 for a bowl of tomato soup & house wine is expensive at £5.80 per glass! Would not recommend this restaurant due to the poor service & food was standard...nothing to rave about. Very disappointed!

  • Meal with friends (Rating 3.6/5)
I had booked arta for a meal with a group of friends, thinking that after eating we could stay for drinks without having to brave the Glasgow weather. Overall the food was good but there were a few things that fell below what I expected; when we arrived they hadn't got our booking correct- I had updated the book got include 2 more people And had relieved confirmation, but the table was for 6 so we had to wait while they organised the table, one of our party ordered a draft beer and was told that this was not possible as it was only served downstairs, also they had run out of carafes so after waiting a long time we eventually got water in jugs but no glasses. Nothing major but just small details that could've made our evening even better. I wouldn't let this affect my decision to book again.

Good tapas for a good price. The restaurant itself is wonderfully decorated has a very grand feel to it. The food was delicious although the black pudding was a little dry. Good and attentive service.
