  • the big deal: two 2 course plus glass wine (Rating 4.8/5)
First time here and will definitely go back. I had fish cakes to start and there were so light and fresh. My partner had the haggis to start, big portion. He loved it. I had the chicken with kale mass, turnip puree, haggis and thyme gravy. This was absolutely amazing. I could have ate that dish 100 times this month. My partner had the pork belly with black pudding and apple. Very well put together flavours and also an amazing dish. The only criticism I have is that the restaurant advertises Scottish beers and they didn't have any but, value for money for the quality of the food was outstanding.

  • Very good but........... (Rating 4/5)
We dined on the 2 for £20 deal which was fantastic value for money. We had a good choice of around 5 starters & 5 mains and the food was hot, presented well and very good. However our experience was tainted slightly when I decided to order a dessert which was very small and I felt expensive for what I received- lesson learned - If I had just stuck to the 2 courses I would have left the restaurant happy!

  • Lovely Saturday Afternoon Lunch (Rating 5/5)
This was a deal which was great value for money & the menu had enough to choose from. The staff were very friendly & helpful and the service was quick & efficient. All helped by the lovely surroundings of Merchant Square.

Enjoyed food and setting. Service good without being overbearing.

  • Just ok (Rating 3.4/5)
The service was quite poor the night we were there, almost as if the staff were new. We asked for a basket of bread, and when our starters were cleared we asked to cancel the order as it hadn't arrived, to complete confusion of the staff. The food was just ok this time, compared to other times - the creamy mash wasn't creamy etc.
