Viva Bothwell Street Review

  • Rating Viva - not so much.... (Rating 3.2/5)
We have been before, and we have had some reasonable food there. We ordered pizzas, unfortunate soggy bottom situations prevailed and the 'cup' of french fries was less than inspiring for the price. Had we been paying full whack I would have been disappointed. When one has fries one has salt and vinegar, they don't provide vinegar in a recepticle suitable for this purpose, they only have 'dressing' bottles which is also red wine vinegar, not really what you want to be using. The salt cellar was also cheap plastic and we had to have it replaced as it had jammed - the food was passable it wasn't busy as we were there shortly after opening - maybe because it was Sunday it was not their 'A' game that was being brought to the table - who knows. there is a saying 'all fur coat and no....' though one thing they do have is proper cutlery not cheap made in china alloy - is that enough though to warrant their normal pricing. We had the 35% off and for that it was excellent value.
