Urban Bar & Brasserie Review

  • Rating Rating 4.8/5
A thoroughly enjoyable experience. The starter of Goats Cheese with beetroot and pear was excellent, as was the main of Michael's Steak Burger. Another couple of friends had the Salmon which they said was beautiful. We all pushed the boat out and had dessert. The Honeycomb Ice Cream with Dark Chocolate Sauce was great although I would have chosen something else had the menu been more to my taste. The only reason for marking the food down to a 4 is that one friend wasn't too impressed with the soup (Leek, Potato and Sweetcorn) and another friend thought the Banana Loaf dessert didn't taste much of banana. The service was excellent and friendly. We pushed the timing to the wire waiting for a friend arriving from Edinburgh and didn't order till 6.30pm. However, the 7.30 deadline for the table to be given back came and went without us being asked to move to the busier bar.
