First time visit to Torres on the £10.95 = 3 tapas & sangria deal.
The disappointment started initially when it was pointed out that any seafood tapas selection is subject to a £1 per dish supplement, which is not mentioned anywhere on this site.
We ordered nachos as a starter to be followed by our 3 tapas each. The nachos came around 20 minutes later even thought the restaurant was nowhere near full. We hadn't finished these before the 6 tapas arrived with the server commenting "I see you haven't finished, but your food is here"?
The seafood paella was lovely & a decent sized portion containing 3 mussels, a large king prawn and 4 pieces of calamari. The chorizo & black pudding was simply a slice of black pudding with some slices of chorizo over it ... no sauce, unlike the Cafe Andaluz version. Grilled chicken breast was lovely, but the tiny side salad has no dressing. The harissa chicken was lovely & tender was lacking in the harissa taste. Garlic chicken I liked, but couldn't see the crispy garlic slices.
Overall we finished the food, and left feeling full, and it did the job of a meal after the theatre - but not a "go to" destination, and I would still prefer Cafe Andaluz although admittedly it is dearer and no deals to be had on a Saturday.
