Rating Lovely lunch (Rating 4.6/5)
Had a lovely lunch at the Western club restaurant. Went with 2 friends on a Monday which is why I've given 4 stars for the atmosphere, it was quiet, there were some people in, but it was quiet, however that worked for us as we were having a catch up lunch. The décor is restrained but stylish, grey and black. The staff were lovely, couldn't have been friendlier.
The menu was the 5pm menu, there was no real push to take the A La Carte which was nice. The choice was ok, but slightly odd starters, I had the Roasted Peach with buffalo Mozzarella and pine nuts, which was ok, but I don't think the Roasted Peach really worked, it didn't really go with the buffalo Mozzarella.
My main course was Pork Loin with bubble and squeak, which when I saw it, I thought wasn't a lot, but when I unpicked the tower, it was plenty and very very nice.
I had biscuits and cheese for pudding, with (for a nice change) enough crackers and lots of grapes.
the price included a glass of wine, which to be honest was a little on the small side and was served even before we had ordered our food, however the wine was nice.
The 3 course lunch was £19.95 with a glass of wine and I certainly thought it was well worth the price and will most definitely be back.
