Blythswood Square Restaurant Review

  • Rating Afternoon Tea at Blysthwood Square (Rating 4.8/5)
Fabulous afternoon. Second time I have been for afternoon tea, instead of just sandwiches this time there was a selection of savoury items including a mini quiche and haggis bonbon which were a nice touch. Two scones as before and the selection of cakes was different to my last visit, each delicious especially the cranachan macaroon. The hotel itself is beautiful and this carries through to the presentation in the salon. The service was excellent, very attentive without being too much and we must have spent 2 hours there without any inkling of feeling like we had overstayed our welcome. The icing on the cake was that this was a birthday treat for my mum and our waiter arranged an extra treat at the end of a special plate iced with Happy Birthday and some chocolates and tablet presented to her. At £28 a head this is a definite treat of an outing but the whole experience was well worth it - with the bonus of a very good deal for from I will definitely go back but again as a treat rather than the norm.
