I booked myself and my mum in for afternoon tea as an after Christmas day out, I had visited a few years ago for dinner and found it really nice.
I don't have particularly high standards and having worked in food service before, I am able to make allowances when something isn't up to standard.
Upon entering the relatively busy establishment there were no staff members immediately there so I had to stop a waitress to let her know we had arrived after about ten minutes. We were seated on the balcony with a nice view over Princes Square.
The waitress asked whether we would like to add on two glasses of prosecco, which I did.
So our sandwiches and cakes arrived and aside from being slightly hard were very nice. However, 25 minutes after receiving these we had to ask where the tea, coffee and prosecco we ordered had gotten to.
By this stage the remaining items weren't at their best.
The girl serving us did apologise however the whole experience was tainted and considering it was a trip out for someone, I was pretty let down with the service.
