Quick Facts

Part of Glasgow’s vibrant Merchant City area, Maggie May’s is a Scottish restaurant, buzzy bar, club, live music venue and comedy stage. Put another way, you could go to Maggie Mays for a bowl of soup at 11am and emerge at 3am the next day having been well fed and watered, watched a band and danced your socks off. Massive bands such as Arcade Fire, The Kings of Leon and Paolo Nutini have all played at Maggie May’s and it’s not in any way unheard off for bands to nip down to the bar after playing a gig elsewhere in Glasgow. If you want anything from a bite to eat to a full-blown feast, then head for Maggie May’s. Who knows who you might spot at the bar?
Scottish bar
Scottish food takes front stage at Maggie May’s in Glasgow. This might mean a starter of smoked haddock and king prawns in a crispy pastry basket; a main course of pan roast chicken and haggis with Laphroaig whisky sauce or the quirky dessert listed as My Aunty Cath’s famous Scottish trifle. Perhaps most iconic of all is the fish supper which comes with a chippy pickle. More far-flung influences are evident in the selection of pasta, the tempura and the burgers which, among other variations, are known as the Texan, the Spanish and the Ayrshire. Good music and good food hit the right note in Glasgow’s Maggie Mays.
