La Bonne Auberge Review

  • Rating Beware rip off (Rating 2.2/5)
My wife and I booked the 3-2-1 deal, £45 for 3 courses including a bottle of wine. The food okay, although the portions were very small. However when the bill arrived, to our complete surprise the bill was for £59!! The only 'extra' I ordered was a small white coffee. When I queried the bill I was told that there were supplement costs. We were not told about any additional costs (apart from them trying to 'up-sell' our bottle of wine which we refused) and there were no extra costs for what we ordered on the menu. They had also added a 12.5% service charge, very steep considering we were in for less than an hour before going to the theatre. The couple beside us also queried the bill as they had also been billed for mysterious 'extras' All in all it felt that we were well and truly ripped off. We will never be back.
