We have been to this restaurant a few times, really enjoyed it & returned on Mother's Day. Whilst waiting for our table, we ordered a bottle of wine from the bar, asking for a dry house white. Initially the barman suggested Trebbiano, which we were happy with, but he then went onto recommend a different one, a Sauvignon. We went with his recommendation, thinking no more of it, as we had requested a house white.
When the bill arrived, the "house white" was a whopping £28.00; the original choice of Trebbiano would have been £16.95. We felt too embarrassed to point this out, as my daughter had already mentioned to the waitress that her main was bland & disappointing, and also that the 40% 5pm discount had not been taken off our bill.
I e-mailed the General Manager, telling him all of the above, and also that we were on a budget, would never have chosen such an expensive wine, and that my elderly mother was beginning to feel unwell, so we had just paid the bill & left swiftly.
No response to that e-mail, so I forwarded it on to the Business Development Manager, and had no response to that either! I think it's a shocking lack of customer service & consideration for your customers, that you just ignore them when they have an issue! Extremely disappointing.....
