Elia Greek Restaurant Review

  • Rating Disappointing (Rating 3.4/5)
Lovely inside and great service but the food did not impress. We had the bread with feta cheese, tomatoes and olive oil which was tasty and the veg dolmathes which were ok. My partner had veg moussaka which was not like any moussaka I've ever had. It was basically layered grated veggies. Couldn't see any aubergines and tasted, well of grated veg. Very plain. I had the chicken kebab with rice and veg. Half of the veg (an unidentifiable type looked like parsnip but wasn't) was very undercooked. The chicken was nice but the rice was absolutely uncle ben's microwaved type, which was so disappointing, same rice was in the stuffed vine leaves. Had to pay an extra £2.50 for a small bowl of sauce which I wasn't happy about. We had 2 pints of diet coke and it was totally tasteless, not sure if the syrup needed changing. Such a shame about the quality of food as its a lovely place with attentive service. We would not go back.
