About Elia Greek Restaurant
'Good Food Show Weekend in Glasgow'
Lesley Mackenzie - 10/11/2015
Booked for this restaurant on Saturday 7th November at 7.45 - spent a long day at the Good Food Show so decided to head there around 5pm, very busy but shown to a table. Explained that we had booked for later in the evening and would they cancel the table, manager appeared and said that he would very gladly apply the discount for the 5pm deal even though we were there early :-) Food was excellent, we decided to choose lots of starter plates to make up our own meze and this wasnt an issue at all, staff were cheery and very friendly taking time to advise where certain dishes originated from. A lovely city centre restaurant with lots of buzz and staff who rushed around with smiles on their faces. I cant wait to return and would recommend to family and friends.

Several times at this little gem of a restaurant, from the wine to the very tasty fresh food we could not fault it.

Authentic Greek food
Owner George Leronymidis presides over Elia’s kitchen which creates Greek dishes made from Scottish produce. Specialities include Kleftiko slow cooked lamb on the bone in tomato sauce and Keftedes, traditional meatballs made with freshly ground beef seasoned with Greek herbs. The restaurant also offers an extensive Greek wine list which includes Agioritiko, a dry wine from a monastery in Mount Athos, and Metoxi which comes from the mountains of Halkidiki.
Elia also offers a range of meze dishes with include dolmathes (rice and herbs wrapped in grapevine leaves), tigania loukanika (spicy pork village sausages cooked with onions and mixed peppers) and naturally, many options including feta and haloumi cheese.
Elia’s focus on authenticity can be traced down to their choice of olive oil which is created from the family vineyards.
