About Drum and Monkey
Traditional pub in Glasgow city centre
Once an imposing bank building, The Drum and Monkey is a well established and much loved bar on St Vincent Street. A former CAMRA Pub of the Year, it has a spacious interior with plenty of nooks, crannies and booths to hide away in. The ornate cornicing, magnificent island bar, wood panelling and marble columns give it a grand air but this is a friendly city centre pub where everyone is welcome. Even lager drinkers.
Bar food classics and more
The main food menu at The Drum and Monkey is packed with classic pub grub dishes from battered haddock and chips to haggis neeps and tatties. There are pies, mac ‘n’ cheese, scampi and a grill section brimming with burgers, chops, chicken and steak. Not that it’s all meaty, hearty fare. Dishes like the brown rice, quinoa and lemon salad offer a lighter alternative.
Alongside the main menu, The Drum and Monkey runs a Sausage and Chop House menu specialising in options such as wild boar and apple sausages or thick cut Barnsley chops. The desserts range from rib-stickers like the rhubarb, plum and cherries crumble to comforting dishes such as the Belgian chocolate brownie and salted caramel profiteroles.
