Cafe Source @ St Andrews in the Square Review

  • Rating Nice food, great service. (Rating 3.6/5)
We ate at Cafe Source on our anniversary, overall we enjoyed the meal and the staff were very pleasant. Unfortunately we were seated near some very loud older ladies who were quite obviously drunk. My partner and I had to raise our voices over their screeches and squeals just to hear each other, this did not in any way contribute to the ambiance. Luckily they vacated just after our main courses arrived so we could enjoy what was left of our meal. The food was nice, portion size was generous and I would recommend paying the surcharge for the lamb shank which was very well cooked, the meat literally fell away from the bone. The waitress was happy to allow us a decent break between courses, at no point did we feel rushed. The wine was not great (merlot) but as it was included in the price of the meal it was never going to be amazing. We would be happy to go back.
