One of the things that annoys me when I arrive at a restaurant is not being acknowledged, however busy it does not take a moment for someone to say hello, here it took about 5 minutes before anyone spoke to us, the greeter or maitre`d was sorting out a table for a large group but saw us arrive and several other staff walked passed us while we stood at the doorway without speaking to us, what was just as annoying was another couple who arrived after us where then taken to a table first.
We were given menus and our drinks order taken but no-one informed us of the soup of the day or fish of the day, when our friendly waitress came back to take our order we had to ask her what these were and then wait while she went to find out. We found the 5pm menu very limited but my starter of calamari was good. My husband thought his starter and main course were adequate but he had tasted a lot better, my main course of Linguine with mussels was very disappointing, the broth it sat in tasted of very little except chilli and black pepper and only 10 mussels in a main course dish I thought inadequate. The waitress who served us was very pleasant and when I explained my problems with the main course she had obviously reported this back and when our bill was presented she did say we hadn't been charged for my husbands coffee and my liqueur.
