Nine of us booked to go for my birthday on a Friday evening on a very reasonable 5pm deal. We were disappointed to be seated at the serving hatch meaning that every time food was ready a bright light went on behind our table, not great for the ambiance. Then the waiter tipped a tray full of glasses of ice cold water right down my friend's back and all over her seat and ran away without apologizing or offering her any help. Other members of staff came over and removed her chair and put slippery floor signs out but no-one offered her a towel or a new chair until I demanded it. It took 5 to 10 minutes to get her back seated at our table and we got a new server for the rest of the meal. The food was enjoyable and it did all come out hot and reasonably quickly but when we got the bill, there was no discount or recognition of the hassle my friend had experienced and so we chose not to leave a tip. I went up to explain that we would have tipped our server if the bill had been discounted and they just said they'd said they were sorry already. There are too many good restaurants to choose from in Glasgow to put up with that sort of attitude so it's very unlikely that we'll be back.
