We were given a rubbish table in the main walkway next to the coat stands and kitchen entrance/exit which appeared to have been added to the floorplan following an exercise in trying to squeeze more customers in.
The food was really excellent - well worth the money and there was a better choice than usual for an italian restaurant.
We had booked a table for 17:30 as we were going on to a show afterwards. It was made very clear to us that we should vacate the table before 19:30 which we understood and which was no problem as we would have to leave before then anyway to catch our train. However, the staff were constantly peering over in a "are you still here?" kind of way. After our meal we were finishing our bottle of wine (18:50) when we were asked if we wanted to order coffees. When we declined the waitress swiped our bottle of wine from the table which still had almost a glass of wine left in it. When pointed this out to her she turned the bottle vertical and poured the contents straight into my glass including the sediment. This was totally out of order and completely rude - we paid for our wine and were entitled to dispense it between ourselves as we saw fit, NOT as the restaurant saw fit.
The when we were given the bill it had service added already - i hadn't planned on leaving a tip and i don't think it is justified to add service to a table of only 2 people anyway.
