Booked a deal for 2 courses bottle of wine. We ordered the food, received our starters (nice) then overheard waiters saying that the chef had called in sick & one of the waiters had to go into the kitchen! Another table asked if this was true & we heard yes, and the evening chef would be in around an hour. So we "nursed" our starter & wine through then eventually received our mains - again, which were very nice. I think it would have been much better if the restaurant manager (who seemed to "disappear" at this news) came out & told us of the delay, instead of leaving the waiting staff to face the music. It wont put me off returning, because the staff were very professional & the food was nice. But hopefully Abode can ensure this doesn't happen again.
