The venue and ambience is very pleasant, if you disregard the shoddy workmanship in the restaurant! Unfortunately our visit was marred by a noisy crowd of North Americans seated in front of a tiled wall which enhanced the racket and we couldn't hear each other speak. The food and service were good, however I asked for a medium rare steak and received a chewy well done steak. The steak was also advertised as coming with cherry tomatoes - no tomatoes arrived. When I pointed this out to the waiter he returned apologising that they didn't have any cherry tomatoes but the chef would do a large tomato which was not as tasty. They had also run out of vanilla ice cream so my partner had none with his creme brûlée. Abode needs to order adequate food in future to cater for the handful of customers they had on a Sunday evening. I had eaten several times in the basement restaurant and had no negative experiences. The waiter and manager apologised about my main course, the latter explained they were just starting out with this restaurant and were keen for feedback.
