29 - The Grill At The Square Review

  • Rating Great lunch venue in the city centre (Rating 4.4/5)
Great place for lunch in the city centre. No. 29 has a quiet and sophisticated ambiance with a reputation for good food and prompt efficient service. Frequented by the rich and famous who eat in the Grill and make late night visits to the private club on the upper floors, it can become very busy at the weekends. The meal starts with a warm moist freshly baked loaf of bread cut at your table. We enjoyed an excellent lunch menu of 2 courses with coffee. You can also have one of their renowned steaks from the A La Carte menu. Ask for a table at the window and you can watch the busy Royal Exchange Square below. There is a varied wine list starting at £18 with a good choice of wine by the glass at reasonable prices. If you like steaks No 29 is the place to go. Recommended - especially for lunch
