About Shebeen Bar and Braai

South African bar and braai

Just off Lothian Road, Shebeen is a South African bar and braai, or barbecue restaurant. If you are keening for bunny chow or boerewors then track down this Morrison Street restaurant. The star of the show is the beef. Sourced from local farms and hung for five weeks, the fillets, sirloins, rumps rib-eyes and T-bones are served in two sizes: cheetah, which is around 480g, and lion, which will probably require a couple of extra belt notches. There is a second Shebeen on Dalry Road.
