Let me start by saying this was not our first visit to this venue and we have always enjoyed both the food and service. Our waiter tonight could not be faulted, sadly unlike his manager.
Firstly the menu we booked was not available, despite it being what we booked. When queried, the managers view was equivalent to "tough". There was nothing he could or would do. We were then reduced to a choice of two starters and despite it only being 7.00pm and only one, yes one other person eating, they had run out of 50% of the choices....that left the soup. They did at this stage compromise and suggest that I could pick another starter, very kind but I will return to that.
The food was fine.
On asking for the bill, I was somewhat surprised to find that I had been charged for the menu that was NOT available to us. The menu we ate from was lower priced and when queried, it was insinuated that I should be thankful given they had offered an alternative starter.
It is rare these days where a company let's you down, that they make strenuous effort to compound that, but here the Apex excelled.
