Indian seafood restaurant in the Old Town
Guchhi is a contemporary Indian Seafood Restaurant on East Fountainbridge in Edinburgh. It brings together the best of Indian culinary know how and freshly sourced seafood.The chefs have worked in India for a number of years from Goa to New Delhi and absorbed the styles and specialities of each area into their cooking. The enthusiastic staff and welcoming interior only add to the dining experience.
The restaurant has a separate bar to enjoy a pre or post meal drink and specialises in modern and molecular cocktails.
Contemporary Indian cooking
Guchhi specialises in Indian seafood dishes cooked in a contemporary manner. Local fish and seafood suppliers using sustainable methods are used whenever possible. Specialties include the lobster iguru, hot lobster marinated in mugkai mugatha masala and cooked in an oven, and the Makhan Michi Crab, tender crab marinated in mild spices, butter, pepper and roasted in a clay oven.
For those not so keen on seafood, classic Indian dishes are also available such as korma and jalfrezi and there are a number of vegetarian options. Guchhi also has a special clay tandoori oven and have a tasty selection of tandoori kebabs on the menu. The tandoori murg is popular, a whole chicken delicately marinated overnight in fresh aromatic spices and yoghurt, as is the garhi kebab, succulent lamb chops marinated with spices.

Guchhi is on East Fountainbridge and around a fifteen minute walk from Waverley and Haymarket train stations. A short distance from the West End and City Centre, there are numerous bus routes nearby and some on street parking.
