My husband & I decided to go out for dinner at the last minute on a Sunday night and checked for deals on 5pm. He remembered that Blonde is quite near our home and that others had recommended it, so we booked it. We really enjoyed it and would return. I had halloumi with red chard, pumpkin seeds and beetroot puree to start. It was good although I think I would have liked a touch of acidity to it - I noticed another diner was served it with a lemon wedge, which would complement it well, but I don't think I got one. My husband had mussels, which were plentiful and in a nice tarragon cream sauce. The warm poppyseed brown bread served to the table was lovely too. For main I had coley with olive mashed potato and wilted spinach, in a creamy sauce. It was lovely, the only unusual thing being that the cream sauce was quite sweet, but since this was served with a lime wedge, it balanced out well. My husband had duck, and seemed to enjoy it. For dessert, we shared the flour-less chocolate cake, with caramel sauce and we requested vanilla ice cream instead of whipped cream. This was no problem to the friendly staff. The caramel sauce was warm and delicious. The cake was served cold, but I'm sure if you requested it warm that would be possible. I would be happy to dine at Blonde again any time.
