About Zuhus

Portuguese peri peri restaurant on Bridges

Zuhus is a family-run, Portuguese, peri peri restaurant on Edinburgh’s South Bridge. Simply decorated, the restaurant operates a fast casual system whereby customers order at the till and have their food delivered to their numbered table. Open all day until midnight, family-friendly Zuhus is convenient for the large, local student population and handy for visitors to the nearby Festival Theatre.

Hand grilled chicken

Spicy rice, corn on the cob and a selection of salads are all offered at Zuhus but pride of place goes to the spicy grilled chicken. The restaurant’s spice combinations and sauces are based on family recipes. Diners are invited to choose how spicy they want their food with options ranging from mellow and mild to dare devil. The locally reared chicken is hand grilled and served whole; in quarters and halves or as fillets and wings. Diners can choose to have their chicken on its own or as wraps, burgers and pittas. Accompaniments include coleslaw, chips and sweet potato fries. There is a separate menu for children.

Old Town transport and attractions

Located on the South Bridge in Edinburgh’s Old Town, Zuhus is close to the National Museum of Scotland and within easy walking distance of attractions such as Edinburgh Castle and The Royal Mile. Several bus routes run along the Bridges and Waverley train station is a ten minute walk. There is pay street parking on Chambers Street.
