The dining area is large and rectangular. On the day we went, most of the tables were laid out to accommodate two large Chinese tour groups. We were the only individual diners and were placed in the far corner. There was a good choice on the menu and the dishes we had were excellent. The tour groups were not noisy and the the restaurant managed to provide good service to us as well as to the groups. The price (£8.95 for 2 courses and coffee) was excellent value for money for Edinburgh. The staff were pleasant, but another time I would check beforehand if there were likely to be large groups in.
