Lovely choice of savouries (mini croissant with ham and melting brie; potato scone with cream cheese and smoked salmon; peppered crowdie & cucumber on granary bread; egg vol-au-vent). Little cakes also excellent; however an afternoon tea really needs a good scone, and that was sadly missing - instead a tiny over-baked offering, only eaten because it could be smothered in jam and cream. That's a small complaint as the rest was very good, served attractively on a slate cake stand. A choice of teas would have been nice as well as an offer to have the tea replenished - we had to ask for hot water. These little touches would make it more special.
