At very little notice to the Hotel we booked table at 4.40pm for at 5.30pm the same night.
When we arrived we were welcomed & asked to take a seat until restaurant opened.
At 5.30pm we went down & were make welcome by our waitress. She handed us the menu asked which type of wine we would like. The deal was 2 courses at £16.00 or 3 for £19.00 plus glass of wine.
We chose red which was lovely, for free glass they did not give us a cheap wine.
Only slight disappointment the white bread we received did not taste very fresh.
I chose fish cakes for starter & salmon as main & sticky toffee with rum & raisin ice cream on brandy basket. Every course was beautifully presented & tasted lovely. My partner went for Pork Belly as main & Berry Bakewell tart for Pudding again same as myself, nothing was too much trouble for the waiting staff.
We had liqueur to finish with.
This hotel is a hidden gem on the edge of town that is forgotten. I had been in the past with a party of 40 for Christmas lunch & had a great meal. However my partner had never been & is looking to going back in the future.
Only one other little thing I felt I should mention bathroom lovely but only shower gel instead of hand wash in both ladies & gents.
A fantastic night with very friendly & helpful staff we will be back.
