L'Escargot Blanc Review

  • Rating Rating 4.6/5
We had a lovely meal. We went for the surprise menu which really added to the fun. For starter we had a salad which was delicious (this is a french restaurant after all). The main course arrived in a huge pot and we had to guess what it was - coq au vin - although there was an initial concern it would be rabbit it was not. This was again delicious served in a rich red wine sauce and our vegetarian friend had a girolle (mushroom) risotto which she pronounced very good (we noticed she did not offer to share this!). Pudding was creme caramel which actually tasted of caramel not just the usual very sweet syrup. After the meal we had coffees and got quite the most delicious fresh chocolates. A great meal and great company.
