Centotre is a family-run restaurant on George Street in Edinburgh’s New Town within a renovated bank building. With original pillars, high ceilings and mosaic flooring, the venue exudes a feeling of grandeur and Centotre prides itself on their warm welcome to visitors and use of sustainable, fresh ingredients for their simply prepared dishes.
‘Happy food’ and an appreciation of family is part of Centotre’s philosophy so have ensured that the restaurant is accessible to wheelchair users and for special menus and highchairs to be available for younger diners.
Carefully sourced produce, classic Italian cuisine
The passionate chefs at Centotre have dishes that cater to gluten-free and vegetarian diets on the restaurant’s seasonal menus. Some traditional Italian items that may be on offer include the white bean soup with fresh garlic and parsley, the pan-fried calamari and the homemade gnocchi with buffalo mozzarella balls and a rich tomato and butter sauce.
Other dishes also feature on the menu, such as the various freshly made pizzas, chargrilled lamb or beef steaks and Centotre’s very own contadino – orecchiette pasta shells with Italian piccante sausage, cremini mushrooms, dried porcini, rocket, fresh cream and Parmigiano Reggiano.

Centotre is in a prime location on George Street in the New Town with Princes Street and Queen Street Gardens each a short walk away. Metered car parking is available nearby although Waverley train station and Edinburgh bus station are each around a fifteen minute walk from the restaurant. Several bus stops are also within walking distance.
