Edinburgh New Town Restaurants

Edinburgh's New Town restaurants are perfect for shoppers and leisurely lunchers. With some gorgeous Georgian architecture, the New Town lays claim to some of Edinburgh's biggest shops and more popular cultural institutions, so it's little surprise it's also packed with everything from tranquil restaurants to bustling cafes.

Scottish cuisine can be found on many New Town menus, but you'll also be able to uncover everything from Cajun dining to Italian and French choices on its wide streets – many of which also offer a great view of Edinburgh's iconic skyline.

If you can't decide what kind of meal you're after, our customer restaurant reviews and offers could help you find the perfect New Town eatery.

Good atmosphere but too noisy for my group, we r ladies that enjoy music but don't like shouting to b heard. But that's not the restaurants fault it is for a younger clientele. Staff were really helpful, food was ok, but lacking a little in flavour in my opinion but I will definitely return for

We all love going to whighams to meet for a chat and drinks and food. It has a good astmosphere and a great buzz about it. Well worth a visit.

We have been to Asti on numerous occasions and have enjoyed super food. Food this time was as interesting and tasty as usual but the service was not up to the usual prompt standard. The serving staff did offer a free dessert but as we were heading to the the theatre we accepted a carry out coffee.

Service was nice, athmosphere and wobbly table not not " grand cru " pub grub. Never again

Local Voice

Edinburgh's New Town is some 200 years old but still looks remarkably handsome. The generous proportions of its Georgian townhouses make for some very elegant dining rooms; many of which serve equally impressive food.
