With some gorgeous Georgian architecture, the New Town lays claim to some of Edinburgh's biggest shops and more popular cultural institutions, so it's little surprise it's also packed with everything from tranquil restaurants to bustling cafes.

Scottish cuisine can be found on many New Town menus, but you'll also be able to uncover everything from Cajun dining to Italian and French choices on its wide streets – many of which also offer a great view of Edinburgh's iconic skyline.

If you can't decide what kind of meal you're after, our customer restaurant reviews and offers could help you find the perfect New Town eatery.

Had been to Cadiz before paying full price for a la carte and loved it. This 5pm deal was brilliant value. No cutting back on portion sizes, quality or service just because it was a deal. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves fish.

Books this a birthday treat, the menu was hard to work out. Once explained we only had choice 1 sandwich ,the White bread was not fresh. When we arrived, had to stand at bar and wait for someone to acknowledge us even though there was 2 bar staff standing talking behind the bar.

Local Voice

Edinburgh's New Town is some 200 years old but still looks remarkably handsome. The generous proportions of its Georgian townhouses make for some very elegant dining rooms; many of which serve equally impressive food.
