Opened in the summer of 2015, Chop House Leith is on Constitution Street. The latest venture from the team who run Monteiths Restaurant, Sygn Bar and The WestRoom, Chop House Leith is a classic British steakhouse and innovative cocktail bar. Having started life as a cork warehouse in the 19th century, the elegant venue is now a light-filled space divided into separate bar, dining room and private dining areas.
Scottish beef from artisan producers
Filled with carefully sourced, Scottish beef, the dry ageing meat lockers are a focus point for Chop House Leith. The kitchen takes beef from selected Scottish farms, butchers it on-site and then the meat is aged over Himalayan salt before being cooked over an open charcoal grill. Whether you choose a sirloin, a Wagyu rump heart or a Chateaubriand to share, the beef will be expertly bred, raised, butchered, aged and cooked.
While beef is prominent at the Chop House, there are plenty of other options including seafood and vegetarian dishes. Mussels and skinny ships or the roasted squash, heritage carrot, chickpea fritter with spiced hazelnut spring to mind. The brunch and lunch menus have many fans and every meal can be finished with a dessert such as the chocolate fudge cake with salted caramel ice cream and peanut brittle.

Chop House Leith is on Constitution Street, a five minute walk from The Shore. There is restricted on-street parking. Numerous bus routes from and to the city centre run past the venue and the city centre is around a ten minute taxi ride. Nearby attractions include the Royal Yacht Britannia and the Ocean Terminal shopping Centre.
